Today (September 21) is the first day of the two-day adjournment debate on the Easter Sunday attacks and current national security.

The parliamentary session, presided over by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, will start at 9:30 this morning.

The opposition will continue the adjournment debate until 5:00 p.m.

S.M. Chandrasena, a member of the SLPP, claimed that the opposition is attempting to capitalise politically on the Easter attacks.

Nalaka Godahewa, a member of parliament, stated that further action should be taken in light of the investigations into the catastrophic terrorist acts that have already been carried out.
