All public schools in the Galle and Matara districts will reopen tomorrow, October 11, according to the Southern Province Secretary of Education.
Initially, due to the persisting bad weather circumstances, it was decided to close the schools in the Galle and Matara districts on October 9 and 10.
Government schools in the Matara District were already shuttered on October 5 and 6, when severe rains and strong winds caused havoc in most areas of the region.
