The Department of Meteorology forecasts mainly fair weather conditions prevailing over most parts of Sri Lanka today.
However, misty conditions may occur in certain areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Western provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
In sea areas surrounding the island, expect mainly fair weather with north-easterly winds blowing at speeds of 25-35 kmph.
There may be occasional gusts reaching up to 55 kmph in sea areas off the coasts from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota, as well as from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam.
Mariners are advised to exercise caution as sea conditions in these areas could become rough at times.
