Students of the 2022/23 batch of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka have called on authorities to take immediate action to resolve the shortage of hostel facilities within the campus.

The students said they are facing severe hardships due to the unavailability of accommodation, and as a result, were forced to spend the night at a campus cafeteria yesterday (20).

Despite the difficult circumstances, the students emphasized that they remain committed to their academic duties and will attend lectures scheduled for tomorrow.

They further claimed that no assistance or permanent solution has yet been provided by the relevant authorities, despite repeated appeals.

Pointing out that the situation has become a major obstacle to their academic progress, the students urged university officials to implement a practical and lasting solution without further delay.
