The head of the United States’ National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, has resigned citing opposition to the ongoing US-Israel conflict involving Iran.
In a letter addressed to former President Donald Trump and shared on X, Kent stated that he could no longer support the war.
“I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran,” he wrote.
Kent further claimed that Iran did not pose an immediate threat to the United States, adding that the conflict was initiated under pressure from Israel and influential pro-Israel groups in the US.
