The newly renovated Colombo Central Bus Stand at Fort was officially opened to the public today, following modernization work carried out with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The project, which involved the refurbishment of two main platforms, was completed at a total cost of Rs. 424 million.

Officials stated that the upgraded bus stand has been developed as a three-level facility to enhance passenger convenience and operational efficiency. The ground floor will serve as the main bus terminal, while the second floor has been designated as rest areas for drivers and conductors. The third floor will be used for administrative and operational functions.

The renovation is expected to improve overall transport services and passenger experience at one of Colombo’s busiest transit hubs.
