Israel launched a major wave of airstrikes across Lebanon on Wednesday, leaving at least 89 people dead and more than 700 injured, according to Lebanese health authorities, marking one of the deadliest escalations in recent weeks.

Officials said the strikes hit multiple locations, including Beirut’s southern suburbs, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon. Rescue operations are still ongoing, with fears that the death toll could rise further.

Health authorities also confirmed that at least 12 medical personnel were among those killed, while several residential buildings and key infrastructure sustained significant damage.

The Israeli military stated that it targeted over 100 مواقع linked to Hezbollah as part of its continued operations against the Iran-backed group. Israel also indicated that its military campaign in Lebanon would proceed, noting that the country is not included in the recently announced ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

The escalation comes amid heightened regional tensions following the conditional ceasefire between United States and Iran, which included discussions on reopening the Strait of Hormuz for global oil shipments.

Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that oil tanker movement through the Strait of Hormuz has once again been halted due to the continued Israeli strikes, raising fresh concerns over global energy supplies and regional stability.
