Kamal Amarasinghe, who had been in remand custody, was granted bail today (20) by Pilessa Magistrate W.M.M.I. Wasala.
He was released on a cash bail of Rs. 25,000 along with two sureties of Rs. 200,000 each. However, the court imposed a foreign travel ban as part of the bail conditions.
The case is scheduled to be heard again on May 11.
Amarasinghe was arrested on March 27 by the Criminal Investigation Department over an alleged irregularity in vehicle registration.
