A newly established computer training centre and an upgraded library at the Muwadora Uyana Apartment Complex in North Colombo were officially handed over to children residing in the housing complex on September 28.
The facilities were handed over by Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Bimal Rathnayake.
The project, implemented under the guidance of the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, included the renovation and upgrading of the Akura Library, along with the establishment of a new computer training centre on the ground floor of the Urban Development Authority (UDA) housing complex.
The facilities have been established and will be maintained by the Social Animation Division of the Urban Settlement Development Authority (USDA).
The handover ceremony also featured performances by members of the Peace Children’s Club, comprising young residents of the Muwadora Uyana housing complex.
