Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at some locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces.
The public is advised to take adequate precautions against possible damage caused by temporarily strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Misty conditions are also expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the morning.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers are likely over several sea areas extending from Mannar to Matara, via Puttalam, Colombo and Galle, during the evening or night.
Winds are expected to be south-westerly at speeds of 20–30 kmph, while sea conditions around the island will remain slight.
However, temporarily strong gusty winds of 60–70 kmph and very rough seas may occur during thundershowers.
