A cat belonging to a Sri Lankan passenger that went missing at Dubai International Airport has been found after a week-long search.
The cat, named Chuuti, disappeared from its carrier on October 11 while being transported on a SriLankan Airlines flight from Dubai to Colombo.
According to an update from SriLankan Airlines’ Dubai airport team, Chuuti was found inside a baggage carousel tunnel following an extensive search.
“After a week of tremendous effort by our DXB team, we successfully found the missing cat in the baggage carousel tunnel,” the team stated.
The airline’s team described the search as an effort that required dedication, persistence and teamwork.
Following the disappearance, the passenger had appealed for public assistance in locating her pet. She reportedly refused to board her flight and spent approximately 28 hours at the airport searching for Chuuti.
