It was reported that 56 civilians were killed yesterday in clashes between the army and the paramilitary force Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan.

According to the statement by the Sudan Central Doctors Committee, in the clashes between the army and the HDK militia in the capital Khartoum and various cities, 56 civilians were killed and 595 people, including soldiers, were injured.

“We call for common sense to prevail and for the immediate cessation of conflicts that have claimed the lives of innocent, unarmed civilians, evacuation of those detained and stranded, and opening safe corridors for first aid to the wounded” made the statement.

Urgent meeting call to the Arab League

It was stated that Egypt and Saudi Arabia called the Arab League to an emergency meeting today to discuss the conflicts in Sudan.

According to the Egyptian news agency MENA, Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League Husam Zeki made a statement regarding the clashes between the army and the militia Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan.

Zeki stated that Egypt and Saudi Arabia called an emergency meeting at the level of representatives of the Arab League today to discuss the Sudan issue, but did not give details.

Saudi Arabia and Egypt warned their citizens

In a written statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, all citizens in Sudan were asked to be careful and to follow the instructions of the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Khartoum.

In its statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also warned citizens to stay away from conflict areas and not to leave their homes until the events subsided.

The statement stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is constantly monitoring the situation of Egyptian citizens residing in Sudan.

Armed clashes broke out yesterday morning between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (HDK) in the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, and its various cities.
