Saudi Arabia, emerging as a preeminent global tourist destination, is undertaking extensive developmental initiatives across the Kingdom through its Vision 2030 plan. Under the visionary leadership of the crown prince and the prime minister Mohammad Bin Salman, the country has become a model nation, showcasing remarkable advancements and progress in various domains, encompassing tourism, economy, medicine, and astronomy. In line with that, the Crown Prince unveiled the urban layout for Qiddiya City and introduced Qiddiya’s global business identity on Thursday.
Qiddiya City, situated on the outskirts of Riyadh, is set to become an unparalleled destination offering limitless entertainment, sports, cultural experiences, and urban living amenities, ensuring boundless enjoyment for both residents and visitors alike.
Situated a 40-minute drive from Riyadh’s city center, Qiddiya City boasts a striking vantage point overlooking the imposing cliffs of Tuwaiq mountains. It is envisioned as a hub featuring the inaugural gaming and e-sports district, a speed park track, golf courses, and a substantial water theme park.
Qiddiya City’s development advances with contracts totaling 10 billion Saudi Riyals recently awarded. The city, spanning 360 square kilometers, will feature 60,000 buildings and accommodate more than 600,000 residents. Its groundbreaking assortment of top-tier attractions and venues is projected to draw an estimated 48 million annual visitors.
Moreover, the city will house a stadium hosting the world’s largest Olympic Museum. This concentration of diverse sports, cultural, and entertainment offerings in one location is poised to establish Qiddiya as an unparalleled global destination. Qiddiya City aims to generate more than 325,000 jobs and contribute an annual nominal GDP of 135 billion Saudi Riyal.
The Crown Prince aims to transform Qiddiya into a renowned global center for entertainment, sports, and culture, bolstering Riyadh’s economic standing worldwide and fostering the city’s development and lifestyle standards. The initiative, integral to Saudi Vision 2030, reflects a commitment to diversify the Kingdom’s economy and create abundant job opportunities, particularly for Saudi youth, thereby contributing to their growth and empowerment.
Plans are underway to unveil the initial assets of Qiddiya City within the next two years
