US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, threatening to target key infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if Tehran does not agree to a proposed deal.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused Iran of violating a ceasefire by firing on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, including ships allegedly linked to France and the United Kingdom. These claims have not been independently verified, and Iranian authorities have yet to respond.
Trump also indicated that US representatives are expected to travel to Islamabad for negotiations, suggesting parallel diplomatic efforts amid escalating rhetoric.
He further argued that any attempt by Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz would ultimately damage its own economy, estimating significant daily losses, while asserting that the United States would remain largely unaffected.
In his statement, Trump warned that failure to accept the proposed agreement could result in major military action against Iran’s infrastructure, adding that such measures, in his view, should have been implemented by previous administrations.
The situation remains fluid, with no official confirmation of the reported maritime incident and no immediate comment from Tehran, as tensions continue to rise.
