The latest annual update by the International Cricket Council (ICC) has seen Sri Lanka drop one position in the Men’s T20I team rankings, while India and Australia continue to dominate the men’s and women’s charts respectively.
Sri Lanka fell from 8th to 9th place after losing six rating points, slipping below Bangladesh and now sitting just one point ahead of Afghanistan.
India retained the top spot in the men’s rankings with 275 points, maintaining a solid lead over England (262) and Australia (258). The rest of the top seven teams remain unchanged.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh climbed to 8th place, capitalizing on Sri Lanka’s decline, while Afghanistan stayed at 10th position.
Further down the rankings, the United States rose two places to 13th, surpassing both the Netherlands and Scotland. Nepal improved to 17th, while Oman moved up to 19th.
In the women’s T20I rankings, Australia remain firmly in first place with 287 points, followed by England and India. Sri Lanka’s women’s team held on to 7th position, narrowing the gap with higher-ranked teams to just one point.
The ICC’s annual rankings update gives full weight to matches played since May 2025, while results from the preceding two years are valued at 50 percent.
