Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa has been arrested by Thalangama Police, according to police sources.
Police stated that he was taken into custody over allegations of disrupting a rehearsal related to a War Heroes’ commemoration event.
Weerawansa had arrived at the Thalangama Police Station earlier today to provide a statement in connection with the ongoing investigation when he was arrested.
