All 12 people on board a plane that crashed near Butler Memorial Airport in Missouri are believed to have been killed, according to authorities.
CNN reported that the crash occurred close to the airport, with the Missouri State Highway Patrol confirming the incident in a post on X.
Officials said the aircraft was carrying skydivers when it crashed. According to a spokesperson quoted by the BBC, the plane failed to gain sufficient altitude after takeoff, made a sharp left turn, and crashed approximately 200 yards from Butler Memorial Airport.
A source told FOX4 that 11 of the victims were skydivers, while the remaining victim was the pilot. Authorities believe all 12 people on board lost their lives in the crash.
Investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing.
