Gold Prices Surge in Sri Lanka as Global Market Rally Pushes Sovereign Rates Higher

Gold prices in Sri Lanka recorded a sharp increase today (15), following a strong rally in international markets that saw gold prices climb to USD 4,325 per ounce.

According to traders in the Colombo Pettah gold market, local gold prices had risen by Rs. 6,000 as of 9.00 a.m.

The price of a 22-carat gold sovereign reached Rs. 360,600 today.

Meanwhile, the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign increased from Rs. 386,000 on Saturday (13) to Rs. 392,000 today, reflecting the impact of rising global gold prices on the local market.
