The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Sugeeshwara Bandara in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities involving government salaries.
According to reports, Bandara was taken into custody over claims that he had simultaneously received salaries from two separate government institutions.
The arrest was made as part of a broader CID probe into the alleged salary-related misconduct.
Bandara previously served as the Private Secretary to former Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
