The sun is expected to be directly overhead five locations in Sri Lanka at around 12.10 p.m. today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
The locations closest to the point where the sun will be overhead are Neriyakulam, Punewa, Kebithigollewa, Pankulam and Sinhapura.
The sun will remain directly over latitudes passing through Sri Lanka until September 7, due to its apparent southward movement.
