Three people were killed and Three others seriously injured in a road accident involving a car, three three-wheelers and four motorcycles in Mattakkuliya, Colombo, on Wednesday night (16).
According to police, the accident occurred when a car collided with several vehicles travelling along the road.
The collision involved three-wheelers and four motorcycles, leaving six people injured.
All six injured individuals were rushed to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment. However, hospital sources confirmed that three of them later succumbed to their injuries.
The remaining three victims are currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.
Police have arrested the driver of the car in connection with the accident.
Mattakkuliya Police are conducting further investigations to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
