Twenty-four Sri Lankan cricketers have been shortlisted for the DP World ILT20 Season 5 player auction, scheduled to be held in Dubai today (Oct. 1).
Wanindu Hasaranga, Pathum Nissanka and Dasun Shanaka are among the marquee players, each carrying a reserve price of US$80,000.
Dushmantha Chameera, Eshan Malinga, Nuwan Thushara, Charith Asalanka, Kamindu Mendis and Kusal Mendis have also been listed with a reserve price of US$80,000.
According to the final auction list dated September 29, the 24 Sri Lankan players have been divided into three reserve-price categories.
US$80,000 category:
Pathum Nissanka, Dushmantha Chameera, Eshan Malinga, Nuwan Thushara, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Kamindu Mendis, Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga.
US$40,000 category:
Kusal Perera, Avishka Fernando, Binura Fernando, Dilshan Madushanka, Dunith Wellalage, Milan Rathnayake, Isuru Udana and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth.
US$10,000 category:
Sachindu Colombage, Garuka Sanketh, Chamidu Wickramasinghe, Dushan Hemantha, Nuwanidu Fernando, Tharindu Rathnayake and Vishen Halambage.
Of the 24 Sri Lankan players, 13 are available for the full tournament, while the remaining 11 have partial availability.
The auction will feature more than 200 players from 23 countries, including international names such as Babar Azam, Phil Salt, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Faf du Plessis and Liam Livingstone.
Several franchises also hold right-to-match options on Sri Lankan players. Desert Vipers have the option for Hasaranga, while Gulf Giants hold options for Nissanka and Thushara.
Dubai Capitals have right-to-match options for Shanaka and Chameera, while Abu Dhabi Knight Riders hold the option for Asalanka.
MI Emirates have right-to-match options for Kamindu Mendis and Kusal Perera, while Sharjah Warriorz have the option for Kusal Mendis.
