Zones 1 and 2 of Yala National Park, which were temporarily closed due to severe dry weather conditions, will reopen to tourists on October 16, the Department of Wildlife Conservation has announced.
The two zones were closed on September 14 as a precautionary measure to protect wildlife amid the prevailing dry conditions.
The temporary closure also enabled authorities to carry out essential repairs and maintenance work on the park’s road network.
Meanwhile, the Department of Wildlife Conservation stated that reservations for wildlife bungalows and campsites within the park will open from November 1, following the reopening.
