Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa has successfully undergone her first heart surgery, according to a spokesman for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
The surgery was performed following a sudden medical emergency while she was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo, the spokesman said.
He further stated that Shiranthi Rajapaksa is expected to undergo another open-heart surgery in the future.
