The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has emphasized that it will continue to support Sri Lanka during this challenging time.
This was sent by Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the IMF, to the Sri Lankan delegation traveling to the United States under the leadership of Shehan Semasinghe, state minister of finance.
Semasinghe is in Washington, DC, for the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group. He is there with the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, and the Secretary to the Treasury, Mahinda Siriwardana.
The IMF is here to support Sri Lanka during this challenging moment, Georgieva assured the team from Sri Lanka. The time has come for everyone to band together and do their share to get through the crisis.
