Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated at a meeting with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry that Iran is willing to share scientific knowledge with Sri Lanka.
Despite the severe sanctions, according to President Raisi, Iran has made “eye-catching progress” in science and technology and is prepared to “share these capabilities with the friendly nations, such as Sri Lanka.”
He made the comments, according to Tehran Times, during a meeting with Ali Sabry, the foreign minister of Sri Lanka, on Sunday, August 6.
Raisi also commended Sri Lanka’s vast potential and the two countries’ goodwill towards one another, emphasising that other states can develop and prosper without “colonial and self-interested foreign interference.”
The Sri Lankan foreign minister praised Iran for achieving tremendous progress despite international sanctions in a number of areas.
He also spoke about the “constructive activities” carried out by Iranian businesses in Sri Lanka, stating that the Colombo government is eager to strengthen ties with Iran in the fields of commerce, technology, and medicine.
The foreign minister of Algeria, Ali Sabry, referred to his nation as the entryway to East Asia during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart on Saturday.
