Showers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts, according to the latest weather forecast.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely at some locations in these areas.
A few showers may also occur in the North Central Province, while mainly dry weather is expected across the rest of the island.
Meanwhile, strong winds of around 40 to 50 kmph are forecast at times in the Northern, North Central, North-Western and Central provinces, as well as in the Ratnapura, Monaragala, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
