The National Shoora Council has written to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, stating that tourists visiting Sri Lanka as former and current members of the Israeli army are currently a major problem and that they should be denied visas until the Israeli-Palestinian war ends. .

This is stated in the letter sent by National Shoora Council Secretary General Rashid M. Imtiaz, titled ‘Observations on Israeli citizens in Sri Lanka and the expected impact on social harmony and national security’.

The letter also contains four requests regarding the issuance of visas to Israeli nationals.
