Saudi Noor Project for Combating Blindness in Sri Lanka: Another Project completed in Walasmulla

Based on the distinguished relations between the two countries and the keenness of the leadership of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to alleviate the suffering of low-income people and affected communities around the world, and in continuation of the humanitarian work provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for the Republic of Sri Lanka, the latest of which is the Noor Saudi Volunteer Project in “Kattankudy” area in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka during the period from 10th to 16th February 2025, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center completed the implementation of Noor Saudi Volunteer Project to combat blindness and diseases that cause it at the government hospital in “Walasmulla” area in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka during the period from 18th – 23rd February 2025.

This project included performing surgeries for thousands of cases and providing them with medical services and providing them with medicines, spectacles and lenses in addition to providing them with health awareness. During this campaign, 4723 Medical examinations conducted, 457 IOL implanted, 967 spectacles distributed and 467 surgeries were successfully performed by the medical team, providing critical care to patients in need.
