Sri Lanka’s expressway network generated more than Rs. 124.5 million in revenue during the two public holidays on August 26 and 27, according to the Road Development Authority (RDA).
The RDA said a total of 325,316 vehicles travelled on the country’s expressways over the two days.
On August 26, 163,763 vehicles used the expressways, generating Rs. 60.4 million in revenue.
The following day, 161,553 vehicles travelled on the expressway network, bringing in Rs. 64.1 million.
The RDA said the highest traffic volumes were recorded on the Southern Expressway (E01) and the Outer Circular Expressway.
