Three bills titled “Pradeshiya Sabha (Amendment),” “Urban Councils (Amendment),” and “Municipal Councils (Amendment)” must be passed by a special majority in Parliament and ratified by the People at a referendum, according to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
Speaker of the House Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana delivered the Supreme Court’s ruling in Parliament today.
The Supreme Court’s ruling regarding the three bills that were appealed to the Supreme Court under Article 121(1) of the Constitution was announced to Parliament by the Speaker.
