Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend their ceasefire by three weeks following high-level discussions at the White House, according to U.S. President Donald Trump.
Announcing the development on Truth Social, Trump said the meeting had gone “very well” and confirmed that the temporary truce between the two countries would be prolonged.
He also stated that the United States would work with Lebanon to strengthen its ability to protect itself from Hezbollah.
The extension delays the expiry of the initial 10-day ceasefire agreed last week, providing both sides additional time to pursue diplomatic efforts and reduce tensions.
According to Trump, senior representatives from Israel and Lebanon attended the meeting alongside key U.S. officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, and U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa.
