Visiting President of Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, was accorded an ოფიციcial state welcome in Colombo today under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
President Muizzu, who arrived in Sri Lanka on Sunday (03), was formally received by President Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat this morning. The visit marks his first official trip to Sri Lanka since assuming office in 2023.
During his stay, which will continue until May 6, the Maldivian leader is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Dissanayake, focusing on strengthening long-standing ties and cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides are also expected to sign six Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering multiple areas of collaboration.
Meanwhile, authorities have implemented a special traffic plan in Colombo from May 3 to May 6 to facilitate the visit.
