The Road Development Authority has urged motorists to pay close attention to cautionary messages displayed on electronic boards along expressways as adverse weather continues to impact driving conditions.

The RDA noted that ongoing poor weather has resulted in reduced visibility, with darkness and mist reported even during daytime. Drivers have been advised to switch on their headlights while travelling.

Motorists are also instructed to maintain speeds within the 60 km/h limit, keep a safe distance between vehicles, and avoid sudden braking at high speeds, which could increase the risk of accidents.

The advisory comes as heavy rain and mist continue to affect visibility on expressways across Sri Lanka.
