The Sri Lankan Rupee recorded a significant gain against the US Dollar on June 15, with major commercial banks reporting lower buying and selling rates compared to last Friday.
At Seylan Bank, the US Dollar buying rate declined from Rs. 327.75 to Rs. 325.25, while the selling rate dropped from Rs. 339.50 to Rs. 337.00.
NDB Bank also reduced its rates, with the buying rate falling from Rs. 331.00 to Rs. 327.00 and the selling rate decreasing from Rs. 340.00 to Rs. 336.00.
Similarly, People’s Bank reported a decline in the buying rate from Rs. 329.95 to Rs. 326.02, while the selling rate fell from Rs. 340.33 to Rs. 336.28.
Commercial Bank recorded one of the sharpest reductions, with the buying rate dropping from Rs. 330.05 to Rs. 323.60 and the selling rate decreasing from Rs. 341.00 to Rs. 334.50.
At Sampath Bank, the buying rate fell from Rs. 332.00 to Rs. 327.50, while the selling rate declined from Rs. 341.00 to Rs. 336.50.
The latest exchange rates indicate a notable appreciation of the Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar, with selling rates at some banks now reaching as low as Rs. 336.
