In accordance with President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s vision for the future, the Ministry of Transport is making major efforts to increase overall efficiency and streamline Sri Lanka’s public passenger transport system.
The Ministry is also taking steps to integrate electric buses into Sri Lanka’s fleet of public transport by 2048, in line with global sustainability goals, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
The action is a component of an all-encompassing effort to update Sri Lanka’s public passenger transport system. In the upcoming months, the Ministry wants to start laying the essential foundation for the adoption of electric buses.
