Today, August 9, the parliament will discuss the Appropriation (Amendment) Bill’s Second Reading.
According to General Secretary of Parliament Kushani Rohanadeera, this was agreed at yesterday’s meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business, which was presided over by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
The borrowing cap would rise from Rs. 4,979 billion to Rs. 13,979 billion under the proposed legislation.
The second reading of the Betting and Gaming Levy (Amendment) Bill, consideration of the Sri Lanka Institute of Taxation (Incorporation) (Amendment) Bill, and regulations under the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Act are all scheduled for today’s session, as decided at the Parliamentary Business Committee meeting on July 21.
