The Sri Lanka Committee for Solidarity with Palestine held its Annual General Meeting yesterday (24) at the Embassy of Palestine in Colombo, presided over by Palestine Ambassador to Sri Lanka H.E. Ihab M. Khalil. Outgoing Chairman, Hon. Minister Bimal Ratnayake, addressed the gathering.
At the AGM, Senior Journalists Ameen Izzadeen and Mahinda Haththaka elected as Co Chairman of the committee. New office bearers were elected: Vice Chairmen – Hana Ibrahim, Shirly Candappa, Latheef Farook, N.M. Ameen, and Daya Lankapura; General Secretary – Fawzer Farook; Assistant Secretary – Mohamed Fairooz; Treasurer – Hameed Ashraf; Assistant Treasurer – Sukumar Rockwood; Media Secretary – Fiyaz Mohamed.
Committee Members include Mujibur Rahman MP, Lakhman Gunasekara, Mohamed Shafraz, Janaka Adhikari, Asma Edris Rahman, M.R.M. Fouzi, Alhaf Iqbal, and Shafraz Sajahan.
Ambassador H.E. Ihab M. Khalil, Imthiyaz Bakir Markar, and Hon. Bimal Ratnayake were appointed Patrons of the committee.
