Kumara Jayakody, Minister of Energy, has revealed the duration for which Sri Lanka’s fuel stocks are expected to last under normal consumption levels.
Making a special statement in Parliament today (17), the Minister outlined the following estimates:

Octane 92 Petrol – until April 23

Octane 95 Petrol – until May 10
-
Diesel – until April 12
-
Super Diesel – until May 10
He noted that these projections include fuel currently in storage as well as supplies from three vessels already docked in the country.
The Minister further stated that discussions are ongoing with existing suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, while efforts are also underway to secure fuel from new sources.
He added that proposals from multiple suppliers are being evaluated to maintain an uninterrupted fuel supply.
Minister Jayakody emphasized that the government is taking all necessary steps to manage the situation amid challenges arising from the ongoing global conflict.
