According to the latest update from the Election Commission of India, actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay’s party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is leading the race in Tamil Nadu, marking a significant development in the ongoing vote count.

Initial trends showed TVK leading in over 100 seats, ahead of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), which trailed behind.

In key constituencies, Vijay is performing strongly. In Perambur, he is leading by 5,865 votes over DMK candidate R.D. Shekar after the second round of counting. He is also ahead in Tiruchirappalli (East), with a lead of 5,286 votes against DMK’s S. Inigo Irudayaraj after the third round.

As of 11:15 a.m., updated figures indicate TVK leading in 107 seats, followed by AIADMK with 77 seats, while DMK trails with 49 seats.

The early trends have generated considerable attention, as TVK appears to be making a strong debut in state politics. However, with counting still underway across constituencies, officials caution that the final outcome remains uncertain.
